Humanitarian Response in the Middle East

Standing with families in crisis

Updated figures from Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health (March 2–16) highlight the scale of the crisis:

  • 886 people killed, including 67 women, 111 children, and 38 health workers
  • 2,141 people wounded
  • Over 1 million people displaced, with 130,000+ sheltering in more than 600 collective shelters

Many families are now living in overcrowded spaces, informal settlements, or partially damaged buildings, with little protection from the elements.

Access to food, bedding, and basic household items remains critically limited. Hospitals and local responders are overwhelmed, and vulnerable populations — including children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities — face heightened risks due to severe shortages of essential supplies and safe sleeping conditions.
