The Prophet (saww) in His Own Words 

The blessed wiladat of Prophet Muhammad (saww) is a celebration of the best of creation, whose coming was a mercy to every realm. 

As Allah (swt) tells us in the Quran, “We have not sent you, (O Muḥammad,) but as a mercy for the universe.” (21:107).  

His noble life was a testament to kindness, knowledge, and leadership, guiding hearts with unmatched clarity.

In several hadiths, Prophet Muhammad (saww) describes his spiritual station — directly taught by Allah (swt) and excelling all others in piety.

Hadiths: 

  • “I have been educated by Allah (swt) Himself and Ali (as) has been educated by me.” (Makarim al-Akhlaq, v.1, p.51, n.19) 
  • “Indeed, the most pious one from among you and the person most acquainted with Allah (swt) is me.” (Kanz al-Ummal, n.31991) 
  • “Allah (swt) has not created a creation better than me, nor dearer to Him than me.” (Uyun Akhbar al-Ridha, v.1, p.262, n.22)

Noble Leader and Seal of Prophethood

  • “I am the chief of the children of Adam, without pride.” (Bihar al-Anwar, v.8, p.48, n.51) 
  • “I am the leader of the messengers, without pride, and I am the seal of the prophets, without pride; and I am the first intercessor and the first mediator, without pride.” (Kanz al-Ummal, n.31883) 

His leadership was never about status — it was about guiding hearts with compassion and truth. 

Bearer of Mercy and Unparalleled Blessings 

The Prophet (saww) described his mission as a mercy for all people and spoke of the unique Prophet Muhammad (saww) spoke of his role as a mercy to all of creation and of the unique honours granted to him by Allah (swt). 

These sayings show his universal mission and the blessings that distinguished him from every prophet before. 

  • “O people, verily I am a mercy gifted (to you).” (Al-Tabaqat al-Kubra, v.1, p.192) 
  • “I have been given five things that no prophet before me was given: I was sent to the white, black and red; the earth has been made pure for me and a place for prostration; I have been made victorious with awe; and spoils were permitted for me when they were not permitted to any before me (or to any prophet before me); and I have been given the collection of wise words (the Quran).” (Amali of Shaykh al-Tusi, p.484, n.1059)
